About Our School‎ > ‎

Extra-Curricular Subjects

Our philosophy is based on the fact that every child has ‘Multiple Intelligences’. In order to develop these and discover their strengths, every child needs a chance to be exposed to ‘other’ educational experiences apart from the purely academic.

Meath Schools' Soccer Finalists

We are most fortunate in Stackallen in having wonderful facilities that help the children not only to enjoy their time with us but to explore their other talents. We have visiting teachers for Speech and Drama and Music. The outdoor facilities include a ball alley, basketball court, two small tennis courts, soccer and gaelic pitches, a playground (with swings, climbing frames etc), an all-weather pitch and a garden where the children plant vegetables and flowers etc. (and which won the  Traditional Garden Of Meath 2008 and overall School Garden of the Year for 2010 !)

Planting in Spring

We take every opportunity to invite drama groups and environmental speakers into the classroom.

We take part in a number of competitions: girls' and boys' football (GAA, Soccer and Rugby), Athletics, Green Schools etc. Competitions in Visual Art and Creative Writing are entered as appropriate.
