We've spent a lot of time this year on science and maths. As part of this we entered two national award schemes: The Green Flag and Discover Science and Maths Awards. You've seen in many of the pages below the work that has been carried out throughout the classes in these areas: science experiments on electricity, magnetism, the properties of water, forces and energy etc. We have to thank two classes in particular: 5th and 6th under Ms Ryan and Ms Mulhall and the Green Team under Mrs Murray, though every child and staff member was involved. We were informed this week that we have succeeded in gaining both awards which will be presented later this month! Well done all!

Now to just some of this week's activities,

Fourth helped Junior Infants with magnetism.

Junior Infants planted Sunflower seeds with the help of Fifth Class.

Look what I've done !

Sixth "played" with paper planes but had to estimate and then measure distances!

Third studied the breaking properties of water using cornflower and colouring ie slime!

Fifth banged the percussion instruments with enthusiasm!

Pupils who won medals and trophies at the Irish dancing competitions last weekend. Well done all! Comhghairdeas !

Progress on our new extension.

On the present school roof. The new extension almost doubles the size of the school!
