Hi everyone,

We hope that you are all healthy and well at this very challenging and uncertain time.

I'd imagine it has been a difficult week juggling your own jobs with childcare and home learning, not to mention doing everything that you can to keep you and your family healthy and safe.

Our teachers have been busy conducting Zoom meetings to identify remote learning resources that will be of benefit to our pupils. We have selected a number of websites and apps that may be useful and worthwhile to try out at home. These have been posted on our Instagram page @stackallenns which will be updated daily.

In the meantime, the teachers will assign work each week using Google Sites. This will 'launch' next Monday 30th March. You will be asked to simply, click on the tab with your child's class name to find the work that their teacher has assigned for that week. Remember the work set out on Google Classroom is simply a guide and parents are not expected to home-school their children while the normal school routine is 'on hold'.

Our focus at the moment, however, should be on staying well and making sure our children are happy and are building resilience not panic. It is vital at this time to get adequate exercise and fresh air. If it is possible for your child to carry out a little work each day, that’s wonderful! Our children will remember how our family home 'felt' during the Coronavirus 'panic' above anything else. Our children are watching us and learning from us about how we respond to stress and uncertainty.

Please try not to worry about your child 'falling behind'. During these extraordinary times it is important to do what is right for you as a family. Remember everything you do is of benefit to your child. Children are like sponges. They are always learning!

We will continue to post ideas and activities daily on our Instagram page @stackallenns and look forward to your feedback.

Above all take care and stay safe,

Kindest regards,

Rebekah Rafferty & Teachers & Staff of Stackallen NS
